Open Merit JSTS results declared

The results of the Open Merit JSTS Results 2009-2010 conducted on 31st January, whose interview was conducted in uly 2010 are declared. One can log onto the DOE website, under the public circulars tag, a list of 151 successful candidates is put up. Congratulations to al te jSTS scholars! I too have qualified it, though with an average rank of 62. All because of my written test.......well, it was bad.BTW,the SA1 assessments are beginning soon, so I've to prepare for them as well. So, good bye till then!

Local Bal Shree Camp Experience

I participated in the Local Bal Shree Camp organised by National Bal Bhavan. Here, this check you on your talents (dance/music/dromatics etc.). This was the first stage of the selection process. It was simply a fantabulous experience! I made friends with several people out there: Prabhat, Kushagra-to name a few... Firstly, we were welcomed with a few games, so that we could feel comforted. We then stepped into the main selection process, which consisted of three sessions. In the first session, all of us were to present whatever we had prpeared for the competition. So, I sang raga Kedar (Indian Classical Music). It was fine. After lunch, the second session commenced, wherein we were divided into eleven groups of four people each, and each of us were given 10 Mins. to prepare something on the theme provided to us. Our group was given `shopkeeper and beggar`. We enacted how the shopkeeper was a good person, and he had resolved to bring about a change, and how the world found his noble ideas to be boring and useless. That was it for the day. For the next day, we had been divided into four groups, and we had to create a presentation of 10 Mins. on any topic/issue of our topic. We chose upliftment of the women as our topic, and enacted a journey of a women. We also sang a self-composed song on the issue. The skit was well-appreciated by everyone. Finally, the selection process culminated, and after the lunch, I returned. However, the moment when I had to depart and leave the circle of the close friends that I had knit during the selection process was very bad for me and most probably for them too. I am still waiting for the result declaration. They are expected to be declared next week. Further, I also took IIO 2010 yesterday. It was an average paper, though the difficulty of the paper has been enhanced from last year. According to my estimation and the key available on PCCP Resonance's website (which has a number of errors though), I hope to secure a 90/100, and am expecting a rank in top 10. The MUN experience, and lot's more...

I'm yet again after a very long time. Can't help it, I had so many things to complete, so many homework pending and then CCE activities.....Oh God! The vacations got over a long time ago. The first important thing the moment I returned was the JSTS interviews, which were conducted on July14. My interview was pretty OK, except or a few tricky questions put down by the Chem. interviewer. Some of the ques. that I remember now-it's a long time though!

Bio.:

1. What do you mean by anaerobic and aerobic respiration? What is Kreb's cycle?
2. What would you use to preserve slides? (70% formalin solution-I think)

I don't remember any more.

Phy.:

1. You have a wire of say resistance r. You cut it into two equal pieces. What will happen to the resistance?
2. What is SONAR?
3. For echos to be heard, what's the Min. distance? Derive it.
4. What is RADAR?
5. Give two applications of fiber optic? State the principle? (Here, I just knew one of the applications, but was totally clueless about its application in medicine)

Chem.;

1. Atomic structure
2. N+L rule
3. What is Arrhenius acid/base? What about Lewis acid/base? (Luckily, I'd read it a few days ago)
4. What base is there in cucumber and karela (the vegetable)? (No ideas!)
5. Variation in trends across periods and groups in periodic table. (easy!)

That's it I can remember.

Next on the list was some cultural quiz organised by Belurmat. It was a fine quiz, a little tricky. 22nd July, class X G-my class held its morning assembly. It was a really nice assembly-everybody praised it. From dances to sogs, from speeches (especially Sumair's) to co-ordination, everything was in order and superb. Then, on the 23rd July......a big day.....early in the morning, I went in for an inter-school `Postcards from Paris`, the French fest at DPS International in the presentation design competition. We spoke well, and the PPT was also quite nice. Yet, I don't know the reason for our failure at the contest. Next on the list-the same day. I reached the school at 1:15 and rushed to the AVH for the MUN final auditions. Well, the agenda was child soldiers and I was to represent Rwanda (for those of you who don't know, it's a developping nation in Africa). I couldn't research much, as I also have to prepare for the inter-school. Yet, MUN is not only research, but also spontaneity, ideas and a lot more. So probably, all this helped me. It was a fantastic experience. I put forward my ideas about 2-3 times, and was well-appreciate by the executive board. Apart from that, I found the overall experience to be simply very exhilarating. What' an awesome debate it was! I had expected that I would qualify MUN. And fortunately, I did so. I was a part of the top 24 students who finally made it to the MUN club of our school. Mean while, I also became a member of Le Crayon d'Or, French Club at DPS RKP as co-ordinator, poetry recitation-class X. I have resolved to contribute as much as possible to the growth of this club. I will now have to sign off! Have to study for the Maths MT.

Oh guys. Once again, I'm here with the latest info of competitive examinations! IIO 2009 2nd level results were out a long time back. Log on to Silverzone website to check it out. I secured 10th rank in IIO this year. EHF olympiad results are also out. Log on to EHF website for the same. BTW, I got 12th rank in ICO. Besides, the JSTSE 2010 results are also out. Visit Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi's website for the same. A list of 151 successful candidates is available in the public circulars tag. Fortunately, I've qualified JSTSE too. Next: the NSO and IMO 2nd level results had also be declared a long time back, and have now been removed from the website. Today is NTSE 2010 2nd level exam, and also we recently had MUN moc auditions in our school. What a thrilling experience it was! Guess what: the agenda was multinational terrorism and I was given to represent Iraq. That's it for the time being. Hope you're doing well in your life!

Wish you all a very very happy and prosperous 2010. For your info, the level 1 results of the 12th National Science Olympiad are out here . Also, the 2nd level of the DPS Science and Maths Talent Exam 2009 was held on January10. It was a really really really tough paper. Also, the results for RMO and NSEs in various subjects are also out. The second level of the IIO Exam will be held on 4th February 2010 for top 500 olympiad rankers only. The JSTS 2010 will be held on January31. The results for all Eduheal exams will be out in the last week of January.

IIO 2009 rets

The results of the International Informatics Olympiad 2009 conducted by CLF in August/September are out Here . I have topped IIO this year, by securing 4th rank at the International level. Also, could someone plz tell me when is the 2nd level test of this Olympiad?

Latest update!

I'm sorry I am back here after quite a long time. Let's begin........International Informatics Olympiad was conducted on 27th August 2009. I found the paper easy, and expect to get a nice rank. Results will be published Here by the 25th of this month. Next was the World Oral Calculator Competition organised by Magical Methods Foundation. The results are already out, and unfortunately I could not qualify. Next was the National Cyber Olympiad. It was conducted on two dates September10 and October5. Our school conducted on the olympiad on the latter date. The question paper on September10 was really very very easy, while that on October5 was too tough. Unfortunately again, I couldn't qualify. I missed out by six ranks. I was quite a shock for me, 1st last year and 506th this year. Next was Unified Cyber Olympiad, results of which are also declared. Next on the agenda was the DPS Science and Maths Talent Exam for DPS students only. It was a nice paper, though a bit tough......... Next was 12th NSO that was conducted yesterday, i.e. November19. It was a tough paper. The answer key is already put up here . BTW, I've also won the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievements from the Govt. of India and also the NSO E-Quiz for class X, being a class IX student. These are the only good things that came my way this year, apart from NTSE scholarship. I am eagerly awaiting IIO results. God knows what's going to happen! BTW, best of luck to all those who took the olympiad, and for all those who didn't, BOL for your future!
